SIM Launches Funding Future Leaders Campaign

Funding Future Leaders: A National Endowment for Episcopal Seminarians, (FFL) an initiative of The Society for the Increase of the Ministry (SIM), to raise funds to provide needs-based scholarships to students at the 11 Episcopal seminaries, was officially launched in the spring of 2006.

An awareness campaign focuses on the seminarian debt crisis and how to address the problem. SIM is disseminating information about meeting the financial needs of seminarians in order to develop an adequate and diverse supply of committed, articulate well-prepared ordained leaders to all church leaders to share with their dioceses, churches and Episcopal-related organizations. Materials to tell the message can be accessed on the Resources section of the website.

FFL will begin raising funds immediately. The financial goal of $200 million within 20 years will produce $10 million in annual endowment income to provide scholarships to seminarians.

Visit this website often to view the progress on the financial goal. As funds are available, the Society will award scholarships from the FFL endowment beginning in the 2006-2007 academic year.

To make a donation by credit card, go to Donate Now. To discuss making a gift of stock, leaving a bequest in a will, making a planned gift or suggesting a potential donor to FFL, call 860.233.1732.
